Only 3 hours away from Miami is Key West. On the way to Key West you pass by several keys such as Key Largo, Islamorada and Marathon, although they are underdeveloped they have some beautiful spots for nature lovers. The grand prize is Key West and when you get there you feel like you are in a whole other world.

Top Things To Do In Key West: Where To Stay In Key West?
We decided to stay at the Westin Key West. The Hotel is perfectly located right by the water and very close to Duval Street (the famous street with several bars). Even tough the hotel is close to the busy area, the hotel itself is very quiet and tranquil.
Top Things To Do In Key West: What About The Beach ?
Key West actually does not have any good beaches. There’s currently 2 public beaches but they are very small, full of people , rocky and windy. So if you are truly looking for beach relaxation check out the Top Beaches in Key West below:
Another option is to buy a day pass at the Westin Concierge to the Sunset Key Beach. Sunset Key is the island where the Westin has the bungalow rooms where you stay waterfront. But even if you are not staying at the hotel you can buy the day pass and go anytime you want to the Sunset Key Beach. You will have to take the boat at the Westin Dock and these passes are limited to 20 a day to guests.
Top Things To Do In Key West: Rent A Boat For The Day!
This is very cool and I highly recommend it. We rented a boat for the day from Mellow Ventures Key West . They have different size boats and you can choose how many people you want to go with or you can chose a private 1/2 day or full day. We rented the boat to ourselves so we could take charge of our own activities. The boat comes with paddle boards and snorkeling equipment. You should bring some snacks and ask them about extra water activities that you would like them to set up. The reservation should be done at least one day in advance.

Duval St has plenty of bars and restaurants, very amazing atmosphere and reminded me a lot of Bourbon St in New Orleans with plenty of people watching!
To get around from place to place, the pedicab is the most convenient; however, it is the most expensive option. Taxi Cabs are cheap in Key West but very difficult to track down during the evening hours.
